The materials that make up socks generally include: cotton, polyester fiber (polyester), spandex, cotton fiber, etc. Running socks are usually a mix of these materials:
Cotton: sweat-absorbing and skin-friendly, soft to the touch, but easy to pill and fluff, poor air permeability;
Polyester: cheap, non-sweat-absorbing, and prone to smelly feet (silk socks, the favorite of the elderly, light and breathable);
Spandex (elastic): good elasticity, strong wrapping;
Cotton: good elasticity, good perspiration, no sweat absorption, easy to slip;
Because it is difficult for any single material to meet the needs of running socks when running: "soft and skin-friendly, sweat-wicking, good wrapping, warmth, and better fixation of the feet".
